Freya Emerson
Hello! My name is Freya Emerson, and I wear a lot of creative hats. I’m a game developer, narrative designer, and worldbuilder, now founding my own studio, Zealous Studios, where I’m currently working on an RPG project codenamed Indorma in the worldbuilding stage.
It all started in middle school when I received the Computer Science Award for going above and beyond the standards in my class. From there, I dove into game development and built my first game in MIT Scratch: an educational game about European history packed with fun facts.
In high school, I continued programming with Python and Java. I also worked on a school news show called Sunrise, taking on roles like producer, editor, audio producer, and camera operator. That’s where I first experimented with 3D animation to create visuals for the show.
In my junior year, I accelerated my education by completing my entire junior-year curriculum over the summer. That experience fueled my idea for my senior project: a 3D animated music video that blended my love for games, animation, and music.
I graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in December 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Game Design and Development. While at RIT, I focused on game development courses and also completed two co-ops in web development, where I learned that when I’m excited about something, I’ll throw myself into it completely to make it successful.
After graduation, from May 2025 to December 2025 I worked as a Lead Mobile Developer (contractor) at Voe, building mobile experiences and sharpening my production skills. During that same period, starting in June 2025, I joined MonoBlue Games as a Lead Unity Developer and Narrative Writer. About three months in, the project shifted engines and I transitioned into an Unreal Developer role until the contract wrapped in December 2025.
Now, I’m channeling everything I’ve learned — from web dev and mobile to Unity, Unreal, and storytelling into Zealous Studios.
